It’s been a long and lazy drunken summer, but it’s time for us to get off the couch and put down the bong and cocktails. That’s right, it is Con time once again. This weekend (Sept 27 & 28th) we will be rocking out at the Baltimore Comic Con which is being held at the Baltimore Convention Center. We’ll be there rubbing elbows with the biggest list of the big swinging dicks in comics that I’ve seen at a Con in a long time. We’ll be pulling out all the stops to get some notice, including trying to stay sober for as long as possible. I’ll We’ll be handing out free shit like our lives depended on it. Sadly, this will be the last Con of the year that we will be attending because we’re freakin’ out of cash. So if you live in the area, make sure to stop by and if you attend the Con, make sure to come see us in Artist Alley, table 79. We might even give you a nip off of our flasks.
See ya at the Con! | | -Mike W | | | | 5/5/2008 | On behalf of ’Stan’ artist, Delia, and I, I’d like to say thanks to everyone who stopped by to see us or picked up a copy of the ’Girls’ Nite Out!’ book at New York Comic Con. We had a heck load of fun and we met some new cool people, plus we did a little spreading of the word of Stan. I dressed as Stan for part of the day on Saturday and you can see me here.
Since it comic con season, we’re moving on now to get ready for the upcoming Wizard World Philadelphia, which takes place May 30 - June 1. We had tons o’ fun last year, so we know it will be good this year as well. If you’re in the area and attending, come by and see us in Artist Alley. You can take a picture with Stan!
| | -Mike W | | | | 4/17/2008 | The ’Stan’ team will be at New York Comic Con this weekend of April 18-20 in the small press area. If you’re attending this year, come by and see us at the PAN Comics booth, # 2450. We’ll be selling copies of ’A Ninja Named Stan presents: Girls’ Nite Out!’ and giving away tons of ’Stan’ stickers. We’ll also have a preview of the first upcoming issue of A Ninja Named Stan for you to get a peak at. Other comics from PAN Comics will also be available and Delia and I will be available to sign copies of ’Stan’ books. We hope to see you there!

Check out our fancy new site design! Supersweet, huh?
This weekend was the Big Apple Comic Convention, where we represented A Ninja Named Stan and Mike’s imprint, Pan Comics. Now, I’m a hardcore night owl, so Mr.Mike graciously held it down each morning till I arrived all hopped up on coffee and ready to shill product. Our Girls Nite Out minicomic practically flew off the table, and once again the positive feedback was incredible. Mike also sold a bunch of his Angel Ninja Vs. Devil Ninja t-shirts and Pan Comics anthologies. Everyone came out of the place happy!
Between the two of us, we did three interviews, two on video and one for internet radio (coming soon to our Press section). Turns out I really stink at video interviews, so I hope to get my practice in before the next round. Some friends stopped by to say hello, and a wandering sketch artist gave the Stan team an awesome caricature. Over the course of three days, we met a ton of cool new people (hello, Myspace!), saw a bunch of mindblowing costumes and made some great business connections.
On a personal note, my only disappointment was that Katey Segal cancelled her scheduled appearance at the last minute, so I didn’t get my signed picture. Also, due to severe space and occupancy restraints, Mike was unable to don the infamous Stan costume and run around the convention...but it will be another story at the massive and better-organized New York Comic Convention in mid-April. The table’s already booked, so look for us there...we’ll have even more stuff than ever before!
| | -Delia G. | | | | 11/16/2007 | Oh Snap! We finally now have a printed book for sale. Sure it’s only a six page story, but it only costs a buck! As promised, A Ninja Named Stan presents: Girls’ Nite Out! is now available for purchase with free shipping at the PAN Comics Shop. The print run is limited so order one (or a few) up before they’re gone!
Also, if you’re in the NYC area, make sure to visit us this weekend at the Big Apple Comic Con (a.k.a. The National) across from Madison Square Garden. We’re in the artist alley section.

Hello lovely people...
I know it’s been a while since there’s been any Stan news, but Delia and I have been hard at work on stuff for our A Ninja Named Stan comic. We’ve been slaving away on different kinds of things for Stan, but most especially on the special preview short story called, ’Girls’ Nite Out.’
The story takes place in Stan and Andrea’s world, but it takes place after the upcoming first full length Stan mini-series. The upcoming full story, that Delia is starting to do layouts for now, is where you see how Andrea and Stan get together, but ’Girls’ Nite Out’ gives you a peak at what happens afterwards. It’s also a good way to start to get to know the incredible people who live in this world that we’ve created. And as for the art... well, I’ve seen some of the colored pages and believe me, they’re incredible!
Now here’s the news I’m wicked excited for... we will be premiering ’Girls’ Nite Out’ in web comic form on my Angel Ninja vs. Devil Ninja web comic site. If you don’t want to miss any of this Stan web comic action, you can subscribe to the weekly ANvDN email list. You might think about it just to get all the ANvDN action!
Just make sure to at least check out http://anvdn.com/ next Wednesday to catch the first page of the new Stan story. The other five pages will then be released, one per week for the next few Wednesdays after that.
Delia and I really hope that you dig the story and that you do us a favor and tell your friends about it.
This is the beginning of A Ninja Named Stan world domination! | | -Mike W | | | | 8/14/2007 | Alas, we did not make it into the Top 3 of Platinum’s Comic Book Challenge...but never fear, it just means that this isn’t the avenue we’ll be using to deliver "A Ninja Named Stan" to the rest of the world!
Upon initially receiving the news, we were pretty bummed out for a while, but then we put it back into its proper perspective. We not only were chosen for the Top 10 best comics in the contest out of literally thousands of entries from here and abroad, but we also have gotten so much incredibly positive feedback, not only from friends and family (who have to love us! :p) but even from complete and total strangers, both over the internet and in person!
The impact we’ve made so far has only reinforced our confidence that we have a great comic in the making, one which can really touch people, right here in our grubby, ink-stained hands.
Mike and I want to sincerely thank you all not only for your efforts in voting and passing the word along, but for all of your love, support and best wishes. We *will* be publishing "Stan" -- it just won’t be as 1-2-3 simple as some big cheese handing us a fat check and production deadline, and then doing all the leg work of printing, distributing, and working on option deals for us! :)
If you’d like to continue hearing about progress specifically with "A Ninja Named Stan" in the future, please go to http://www.aninjanamedstan.com/ and join our Stan Kidderick Mailing List. No spam, no "weekly news" clutter, just concrete Stan updates and occasional giveaways. :)
Thank you all so much again, from the bottom of my heart!

Hey everyone,
Only five days left to vote for A Ninja Named Stan in the Platinum Studios’ Comic Book Challenge. The competition is fierce and in just five days time, we’ll get to find out whether or not A Ninja Named Stan has gotten a spot as a top three finalist. The website is http://www.attblueroom.com/hollywood/comic-book-challenge/mediaplayer.php and it only takes a minute to vote. If you’ve already voted, you rock, but keep it up; we still need your help. If you haven’t voted, better make up for lost time and get your vote on. There is no limit on how many times you can vote, so get crazy. Tell everyone you know who will vote and even people you don’t know. If A Ninja Named Stan wins this contest, it will be published by Platinum Studios next year and will catapult us into the professional world of comic book making. Help us achieve the dream and vote-vote-vote! | | -Mike W | | | | 7/29/2007 |
We are pleased to announce that our comic book, A Ninja Named Stan, has been chosen as one of the ten finalists for the Platinum Studios’ Comic Book Challenge. As some of you know, about a month ago we submitted the art and synopsis for the comic book to Platinum and it was chosen as one of fifty out of thousands of entries literally from around the globe. In order for A Ninja Named Stan to win the Challenge, we need your help.
We have two weeks to garner as many votes as possible on the AT&T blue room website at http://www.attblueroom.com/hollywood/. Click any of the Comic Book Challenge links and you’ll be able to check us out, along with the competition. You can watch Mike give the A Ninja Named Stan pitch to the judges and check out the art, but the most important thing is the voting! In the middle of the page is a form with the entries, just pick the one that says “Mike Whittenberger” and hit submit. Vote everyday if you can or every hour, but don’t vote more then that. Also, help us out and let everyone you know about it who will vote.
The top three are announced on August 12th and then it goes back to another vote. If we win, Platinum Studios will publish A Ninja Named Stan next year. Do what you can and help us achieve our dream!
| | -Delia G. | | | | 7/24/2007 | Hey everyone, I just found the article in the Queens Chronicle about myself and the other semi-finalist in the Comic Book Challenge who is also from Queens. It doesn’t really say too much, but there is a cute picture of me on there, so check it out.
| | -Mike W | | | | 7/12/2007 | Whoo hoo! AT&T (who is the big sponsor for the Platinum Studios’ Comic Book Challenge) has posted the bios and stuff about the top fifty contestants for the contest. Check it out over at http://blueroom.att.com/hollywood/events/comicchallenge_bios.php and you can see me looking like an idiot on the internet! Keep crossing your fingers!
| | -Mike W | | | | 7/3/2007 | We are pleased to announce that A Ninja Named Stan
is one of the fifty semifinalists in the 2007 Platinum Studios Comic Book Challenge!
So what does this mean?
Well, at the end of the
month, Mike will fly to San Diego for Comic Con International, where he
will have five (5!) minutes to pitch A Ninja Named Stan to a panel of judges.
The judges will pick their favorite 10 pitches, which will then be posted on the Comic Book Challenge website.
After that comes the "American Idol" portion of the proceedings -- you guessed it, "America votes" and further narrows down the contestants to 3, then 1.
If we win . . . Platinum will publish the
entire book within the next year.
We currently have our fingers crossed
and, as you read this, Mike is slaving away, preparing his choreographed song and dance routine for the judges. We will keep you updated on developments as they unfold. Make sure to come back and check on the news on July 28th, because if we are
selected for the Top 10, we will need not only your vote, but your
help in spreading the word.
Think positive thoughts! :)

Hello and welcome to A Ninja Named Stan.com BETA 1.0. What does beta mean? Well it means that we just barely slapped this thing together by the skin of our teeth! Yes, there is a lot more coming. Within the next two months, we will be polishing this baby up like a sweet shiny thing. We’ll be adding more preview pages, character descriptions, free downloads, a gallery, and so much more. For now, make sure to sign up for Stan’s Email List so that you don’t miss any of the latest news from the man himself, Stanley Kiderick.
Oh, and Delia and I will be rocking the Philly Wizard World comic con this weekend. We’ll be in Artist Alley at table 2109 with TONS of free stuff to give away. We’ll be joined by our friend Brent Haughey who does the art for one of my other comic books, Johnny Minor: Rock Hero. If the stars align for you and things are right, stop by and see us. Otherwise, check back here for a run down and pictures of the con in the next week or so.
It’s getting exciting! | | -Mike W | | |
